Background on the client
Healthbridge is a prominent corporation in the medical industry, dedicated to assisting healthcare professionals in running efficient practices, freeing them to focus on patient care. A pioneer in real-time claim processing since the early 2000s, Healthbridge has consistently innovated to offer solutions that automate, streamline, and simplify the daily operations of medical practices.
Two key offerings under their Meraki division are:
Healthbridge Clinical: A cloud-based EMR platform providing doctors effortless access to electronic patient files during consultations. Seamlessly integrated with billing, it prioritises intuitive design and streamlined functionality to enhance ease of use and efficiency for healthcare providers.
Healthbridge Nova: A cloud-based billing platform designed to simplify administrative tasks in medical practices. With real-time claim submission, automated calendar reminders, and an intuitive inbox, Nova empowers staff to prioritise patient care while efficiently managing administrative tasks.
The identified problem that needed a solution
Healthbridge Nova, built as a modern cloud-based solution using Angular/Firebase/GCP and Material design UX, was developed to replace the outdated myMPS platform. Over time, myMPS accumulated significant technical debt, becoming unmaintainable and unscalable.
The Healthbridge Nova platform started as a rapid prototype, but as its team and user base expanded, Healthbridge faced several challenges:
- Maintaining high-quality code while adhering to architectural standards.
- Addressing the gap between product team requirements and the implementation team.
- Establishing processes to ensure both quality and rapid product delivery.
Healthbridge, in addition to these challenges, was also grappling with resource gaps. The adoption of a Staff Augmentation model was seen as a solution to this issue, providing relief and reassurance to the team. This model aimed to improve team communication and ensure the efficient scaling of its solutions.
What solution did Warp provide
Warp Development partnered with Healthbridge to address these challenges by deploying an experienced technical lead who:
- Objectively assessed the architecture, technical requirements, and team processes.
- Acted as a bridge between management, product teams, and implementation teams.
- Acted as a bridge between management, product teams, and implementation teams.
The Results
The collaboration between Warp Development and Healthbridge has already yielded significant results:
- Improved Team Dynamics: The decision to split the team into smaller PODs was a significant step that immediately improved communication, task assignment, and delivery velocity. This change has set a positive tone for the project's future, making the audience feel optimistic about the team's potential.
- Scalable Staffing Solutions: Warp successfully onboarded an intermediate developer for Healthbridge Clinical and is sourcing additional developers and QAs to support future requirements.
- Enhanced Platform Development: With Warp's technical leadership, the team has made significant strides in platform development. Adherence to architectural standards, high-quality code, and efficient workflows have instilled confidence in the project's technical progress.
- Streamlined Deployments: The team has achieved smoother live deployments and better alignment with product goals with improved processes and leadership.
